Hitler’s Inferno

So I’m at the thrift store rooting through piles of bad records yesterday, and the lady that works there drops a pile beside me and says here’s some recent arrivals. I start going through them, mostly classical, Wagner, Beethoven , German folk songs etc. and then these two popped up, and then the lady came back and dropped a copy of Mein Kampf on the pile of paperbacks. These were obviously all part of the  same collection, which get my mind going and I immediately think “some old Nazi died and his family is getting rid of his stuff. Do I really want these records? I’m not going to listen to them, I’m just a record collector who loves to find weird shit to add to the collection.”  But these are creepy. If it had just been recordings of speeches, I would have passed them up. I thought “better that I own these than someone who might be influenced by them. I know someone who once bought a copy of “Bloodsucking Freaks” just to keep someone else from getting it. And then I thought of Klaus Kinski in Crawlspace and I plunked down my ¢20 and walked out with them.
